There’s passion here. You can feel it in the murals, in the neon signs, in the food, and of course, in the music. Soul is an appropriate word to use when describing this place, because it’s everywhere. All of it seems… alive. You can feel it in your soul.
Getting to this point was not easy for us. You all know that we take our fun seriously, which is obvious when you visit our properties in Atmore and Wetumpka. But we’ve worked extra hard to make our new Casino and Hotel in Montgomery something truly special. We wanted this to be an experience unique to the city. No longer do we want to be just Your Hometown Casino; we want to be an entertainment destination unique to Your Hometown. So we asked ourselves: What makes Montgomery Montgomery? Its place in history? Its cultural legacy? Its food? Its music? How could we capture all of that at our newly designed property? While searching for the answer, some members of our management team visited Memphis, an iconic southern destination in its own right, known for great music, great food and great Southern hospitality.
It’s also the home of world famous Beale Street, the legendary B.B. King, and his company, the Beale Street Blues Company. What we saw in Memphis reminded us of Montgomery in many ways, but we saw more.
The ideas began to form while listening to a great band at the original B.B. King’s Blues Club, then progressed over a gourmet dinner at the upstairs speakeasy, Itta Bena Restaurant. A bond began to form between us and B.B. King’s management team, and the ideas crystallized: what if we bring the best of Beale Street to Montgomery, and combine it with the best of what we already do?
Today when you walk inside our newly opened Casino and Hotel, you find yourself on the sidewalks of Beale Street, walking amongst historic brick buildings wrapped in neon and graffiti, home to thriving businesses and the energetic chatter of excited visitors. The smell of barbecue makes your mouth water, and the unmistakable sound of the Blues touches your soul.
On one end of the street, Guests are checking into a luxurious Hotel, getting their hair done at a Salon, or browsing a unique gift shop. At the other end of the street, a dizzying array of gaming machines awaits, offering the possibility of a life-changing Winning Moment.
Around the corner sits B.B. King’s Blues Club, offering casual southern food and great Blues seven nights a week. Hidden away upstairs from the Blues Club is Itta Bena Restaurant, named for B.B. King’s hometown in Mississippi. You won’t find a sign for Itta Bena so you’ll have to ask where it is, but it’ll be worth the effort!
You’ve entered a living, breathing thing, filled with excitement and chance. You have arrived at a place unlike anywhere else you’ve ever been, but it feels like home. Welcome to the new Wind Creek Montgomery!
