HAVE A GOOD DAY!
// STORIES FROM THE FLOOR
I was in Wind Creek Wetumpka for the Gladys Knight concert. I was so excited when I picked up my tickets because the seats were pretty good ones. As I entered the hotel elevator to the rooms, there were two young ladies and one older lady entering the elevator from the VIP side. The two younger ladies were dressed all in black and their hair had lovely pink and blue highlights. The older lady was wearing a large floppy hat. I asked them if they were going to the concert. They all looked at each other awkwardly and smiled sweetly and said “Yes, we’re going to the concert.” I proceeded to tell them how excited I was about the show.

The elevator stopped at another floor and two gentlemen carrying sound equipment got on, and they immediately began having a conversation with the lady in the floppy hat. Then she asked the men who just got on the elevator if her dressing room was ready yet, and then I realized, I was on the elevator with Gladys Knight! I was so embarrassed about asking her if she was going to her own concert! I was unable to say another word, for I was in complete awe of this famous lady I grew up listening to. I reached my floor and all I could manage to say was, “Have a good day!”
