My wife and I drove from Nashville down to the Biloxi/Gulfport coast a few years ago and stayed and played at Harrah’s for a couple of days. Our gaming experience was unfortunately typical of our Harrah’s visits with nothing exciting or rewarding. We’re fine with the comps but you get tired of never having a significant winning experience. This trip’s gaming “win” at Harrah’s was about $750.
We headed home, north on I-65, and noticed a blimp flying low over the interstate promoting something called Wind Creek Casino. We were naturally curious as we weren’t aware of any casinos in Alabama, so we pulled off and found the beautiful new Wind Creek Casino and Hotel in Atmore. We went in to check it out and saw lots of patrons and excitement in first class facilities. I sat down at one game and within minutes I won back all of what we had lost at Harrah’s the previous two days. That put you on our radar. We later discovered your Montgomery and Wetumpka locations and we’ve been short-circuiting our Biloxi trips ever since.
What we enjoy about Wind Creek is the focus on providing a winning experience, not just comps. Comps are nice and appreciated, but we enjoy gaming for the frequency of having significant winning experiences. The more we experience that at Wind Creek, the less we travel to Biloxi, Tunica, and other casinos within similar distances. Keep up the winning, Wind Creek!
