Zack’s Got The Blues, Because Lucille’s Is So Far Away
The moment I took my first bite, I began planning my next visit. That’s how good it is. I was lucky enough to eat at Lucille’s at Creek Casino Montgomery on opening day, and if you haven’t had the chance to swing by, I cannot recommend it enough.  If you’re like me and you love barbecue, you know that when it’s done right, there is nothing on the planet that’s better. There are many restaurants that have barbecue, and I’ve been to them all - and I’ve got the waistline to prove it! Trust me, Lucille’s has one of the best pulled pork sandwiches ever.
The meat was tender and flavorful from the smoking and brining. It wasn’t overcooked and smothered in some spicy ketchup pretending to be barbecue sauce. The bun was just strong enough to keep it all together, without turning soggy and falling apart in my hands, but it was soft and delicious just the same. And the pulled pork would’ve been just fine with no sauce at all, which I mean as a great compliment.  However, I do have a couple of quibbles. To some, Lucille’s regular barbecue sauce may be a touch on the sweet side. I enjoyed it, even though I’m more of a Carolina vinegar sauce kind of guy. But no need to worry - there are an assortment of sauces available, from Smokin’ and Hot to Memphis style. My biggest problem with Lucille’s? It’s not located in my living room!
