Wind Creek Atmore’s culinary team from TASTE Buffet won 1st Place in the Professional Seafood Category at the 2015 Mobile, AL Gumbo Cook-Off for the second year in a row. WCA’s winning team was led by Sous Chef Nathaniel ‘Leon’ Crenshaw, with Chef Bessie Moore, Chef Travolta “Bo” Primm, and Chef James Sheffield. There were 15 teams competing in various categories and WCA came out on top! Make sure to come by Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Atmore to sample some of that 1st place seafood!

Wind Creek Wetumpka’s Buffet team was awarded 2nd place for their spread at a recent Alabama Tourism Department event. The winning team members included: Terriyon Edwards, Alayna Davis, John Holcomb, Barry Stovall, Scott Dirting, and Chef Gary McGahan. They came out winners by serving an assortment of artisan breads, desserts, and prime rib to over four hundred at the Alabama Tourism Legislative Bash at the RSA Center in Montgomery. Among the distinguished guests served were legislative representatives and Governor and Mrs. Robert Bentley.
The entire team at Wind Creek Atmore helped to maintain the prestigious Four-Diamond designation from AAA. Comments from the inspector included “impressive” and “upscale”. The facilities are judged on a wide range of things like décor, design, cleanliness and overall impression. The AAA website describes a Four Diamond facility this way: “The fundamental hallmarks at this level include an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service, and attention to detail.” A fitting description of Wind Creek Casino & Hotel Atmore thanks to an attentive and hard-working staff.
